- applied to 5 top poli sci phd programs this year, all rejected. International student, field: political communication, without poli sci degrees. Poli sci phd programs are so competitive and it seems that they don't welcome students from outside majors, compared with so called "tech" phd programs like hci, information, and cs, these programs seem more friendly. However, got a MA offer from Chicago MAPSS - poli sci. It's an encouragement.
