Last Friday I had the interview, but today I received a system update stating that I was rejected. After inquiring with my potential advisor, I received some explanations (many thanks, as it truly highlighted areas where I fell short during the interview). This year, the annual salary for the Hussman School has increased to $26,000 for 9 months, corresponding to a decrease to ONLY ONE international student. I would like to advise all international students reconsidering applying to this program that if there is only one spot available, and the rest are filled by domestic students, then for international students, this isn't just an application process, it's not even like playing the lottery; it's more like betting whether the probability of getting into an accident is higher than the probability of being admitted here.
