- Already got offers from two top programs, so it didn't bother me. I do want to say though that UChicago was the only program I applied to that didn't ask for a personal statement (only SoP). I was tbh a little shocked about this because it struck me as being disinterested in my personal background which had played quite a formative role in my becoming a classicist. This uninviting impression is only subjective, of course. Nonetheless, I do hope my other future colleagues who are eagerly waiting for results from UChicago can take heart if you didn't get an automated "check your portal" notification ;P!
