Applied for the PhD in ECIC, got an email from the head of admissions asking if I wanted to switch to the masters with an option to continue to PhD after completion. Apparently only one student this cycle is getting accepted to the PhD directly from Bachelors, and all other PhD admits are being recruited from the masters program. 3 research internships at prestigious organizations, currently working full time as a researcher at a national lab, email stated that I had very strong LOR (although I have not read them myself), 4 presentations, contributed to 1 publication (acknowledgments), math and environ sci background (non-engineering). Official results should be out mid-February
