In the portal, the decision letter read, "While your application to the Doctor of Philosophy program in Philosophy and Education was given extensive consideration, the Admission Committee believed that your preparation and credentials were better aligned with the Master of Education program in Philosophy and Education. Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to the Master of Education program in Philosophy and Education in the Department of Arts and Humanities for the 2024 Fall term." So, I was rejected for the PhD but given admission to a program for which I did not apply. From my research, that program does not have any funding, and is long (60 credits). Also, It is difficult, since I already have a MA in education. Decision letter also specifies "no promise" of admission to any other program. (i.e. a PhD there afterward.)
