Status was update pending for a day before it changed to denied. I'm not disappointed in the result (I've been accepted somewhere else), but in the absolutely impersonal way I was rejected after being in contact with the department for MONTHS. I at least expected an email, not a three sentence reply to my long application. Disrespectful as hell.
