PI in this program reached out to my PI to tell him that they loved my application and they would be excited to interview me, but I never received any interview offers and instead got a rejection. Goes to show how much of a crapshoot applications are for internationals and how many other factors there are that determine your acceptance. Congrats to all who got an interview/acceptance!
