One piece of advice for applicants on WL, let your PI or admission committee know if you may access any external funding source. It is likely that you are well qualified for admission but the funding of the department is limited. They will probably help make you an extra offer of admission regardless the acceptance status of their current offers if your external funding meets their requirements!
