Rejected from PhD, Accepted to the MA which I will be rejecting. Letter states "One factor to bear in mind is that PhD programs in English are increasingly receiving applications from those who already have, or are in the process of completing, a Master's degree: this was the position of over 50% of those who have been accepted into our own PhD program in the last few years." I heard this about NYU while applying, and turns out it's true. Just something to keep in mind for those applying next cycle!
