"I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to the West Virginia University graduate program in English for 2022-23. As you perhaps know, we only admit the number of students who we are able to fully fund with Graduate Teaching Assistantships, making our pool quite competitive. We are unable to provide comments on individual applications or advice about revising particular materials. If you are interested in reapplying in future, I suggest that you devote your efforts to revising the only parts of the application that you can change: the Statement of Purpose and the Writing Sample. Once again, I am sorry not to be the bearer of better news, and hope you meet with success in your ongoing studies. Thank you for your interest in the WVU English Department."
