- No invite = silent rejection. 4.5 years of research experience in academia, strong LoRs from people affiliated with the program (professors, alumni). Second author publication, 2 grant submissions, and 5 poster presentations (mix of local and national). Honestly after a certain point I think an applicant can be as qualified as they can possibly be as a researcher short of actually having a PhD and they still won't accept you. Not sure what they're looking for... total crap shoot.
