- [Not Waitlist] TTPB: UMich has a strange policy regarding the funding of Ph.D. Students. As far as I know, prospective advisors have to arrange the funding for the entire 4 years (~200k) when accepting students. In most schools, only the funding for the first year is guaranteed, and advisors arrange fundings yearly (~50k). Thus, funding is probably problematic for most of the groups, and they are waiting for some admitted students to decline the offer to send new offers.
