- Let this be the end of the convo here, but I think you may not understand what hypocritical means. I'm holding offers from schools that I would go to (or at least have to decide between going to) were I not to get into my most preferred school. I'm asking people who know they're not going to Duke to decline. I don't know that I'm not planning to go to the schools I'm currently holding. I would think an aspiring economist would easily be able to understand how this stuff works.
