NOTE to prospective CMM students: I received an email today (after not hearing back from CMM since my interview in late January) saying "We had an incredibly well-qualified applicant pool this year and you were among the top candidates in this very competitive group. However, if you have already made a decision about which program you have decided to attend, we would greatly appreciate hearing your decision as soon as possible since we have several well-qualified applicants on our waiting list. If there are additional questions that we can answer to help in your decision-making process, please do not hesitate in contacting us." This makes it sound like I was accepted, as they are asking me to let them know if I matriculated at another program so they can contact their waitlist students. However, I haven't heard anything from them regarding my admission status. I responded telling them I matriculated elsewhere, and asked for clarification regarding whether I'd been accepted. CMM had been in my top 3 and if I didn't get into the one where I matriculated, I'd still be considering it. They replied telling me I am on the waitlist and that they sent the original email to me by accident. If you haven't heard from CMM, FOLLOW UP. If they hadn't accidentally sent me an email intended for accepted students, I would STILL not know I was waitlisted. Fortunately I matriculated already, but if I was still waiting for CMM I'd be in a really tough situation. Clearly since they didn't notify me of my waitlist status, there are probably other students out there who also don't know they're waitlisted. Good luck everyone; I hope you pick a program that communicates with you. I'd consider this to be a red flag if I were still considering CMM.
