- I emailed the director of the department to ask for a status update on their admission decision timeline, as I have been offered full funding at 3 other schools but didn't want to make a decision until I heard back from Syracuse. He responded with a very personal and kind email, informing me that they have decided to fund fewer students for Fall '21 so that they can offer an extra year of funding to current PhD students, to help them navigate the current job market. He informed me that I would be selected for the waitlist, but - because I have already received funding elsewhere - I chose to decline the offer. He should be reaching out to other applicants for Zoom interviews. Best of luck to everyone!
