Cornell University
Computer Science, PhD (F21)
Rejected via E-mail on 04 Mar 2021
Note
4.0 undergrad GPA, GRE 165/170/5.0 (Q/V/AW). Area: ML. Several publications but mostly in applied venues. Got into two other top 10-ish schools though so I'm happy. Question: I see "generic rejection email" mentioned on here a lot. Is there ever a non-generic rejection email? They all say the same thing—due to the high number of applications/COVID, we had to reject many qualified applicants, best future wishes, blah blah. Can you actually infer anything from these messages about how close you were?
