Already a PhD student in another department. No first-author pubs yet but a few middle-author ones in medical (non-stat) journals. Submitted optional GRE because the math score was high. No mathematics-related degrees. Theoretical mathematics coursework stops at linear algebra/basic proofs plus some applied biostatistics coursework.
