Received an email to check my status. The letter said the reason for the decision is that I am "Noncompetitive." Considering I have an MA in SOC with a 3.925/GPA, six publications, a teaching award, and strong recommendations, I would say I am at least somewhat competitive, lol. I am not in any way saying I am entitled to an offer. Not at all. I will accept any rejection with humility and move forward. But saying I am "Non-competitive" is not only unprofessional, it is also humiliating and rude. Just my opinion.
