TTPB: Dude, honestly with the current situation of AI/ML your profile is average in the pool (good in other fields). So don't bash CMU, from what I know CMU is one of the few top schools that actually even give students with fewer publications a chance and read your SOP closely while Stanford just weeds out based on your profile. Don't really know about MIT...
