sent an email saying open house is April 9th, here are the first two paragraphs of the letter: "We are writing to let you know that you are under active consideration for admission to our Ph.D. program. Our admissions committee reviewed your application and was quite impressed. It is clear that your record is sufficient to merit admission, but due to the pandemic, we anticipate to make many offers much later than typical...We only make offers that we fully fund (tuition + stipend), via either Teaching Assistantships or Research Assistantships. Effects of the pandemic have rendered uncertain our ability to fund as many graduate students as we would typically. During the next ~5 weeks, we will clarify our situation, and have thus held off currently making as many offers that we would like. We expect to make a number of additional offers.."
