The grad director of UW Sociology gave me this update when I asked her about the admissions timeline -- "This is all a process, and everyone will get an answer. The first round are immediate admits. Then we build a waitlist. Then lastly we do denials. It takes until the end of March often for us to get all answers out as we do this in phases. If you are on GradCafe or some such site, if you could let everyone know, all will get a response, but not all at the same time and that we take a while to get all the responses out. Generally speaking, I do not answer these inquiries as a result, if you could let everyone know that as well that would be really helpful, thanks. "
