Note

called by graduate program chair for acceptance. Mentioned that while in the past funding was easily secured for their MA students this year they cannot offer funding YET but will still work to secure it for top MA students. Said that it had more to do with the number of applicants this year as opposed to issues regarding COVID. Applied here as Master's student since their direct to PhD path is more rare (like european system) according to POI but they mentioned they'd want me on as a PhD student after Masters!
