Phone call from first-choice listed PI informing me I was recommended for admission, official email from department January 19th and graduate division confirmation forthcoming once they review transcripts. 3.94 GPA with Chemistry/English double major at top-30 LAC. No GRE, no publications (two submissions as like 7th author currently in review). Two years of research, one national undergrad science scholarship, two regional poster presentations. Lot of work into SOP etc. 3 letters from faculty I have good relationships with (undergraduate research advisor, summer research advisor, and professor I TA'd for). Synthetic/materials focus.
