TTPB: A professor contacted me to setup a video chat. Not a professor I listed in my application. They asked about my background and then told me about a research project and asked whether I was interested. Very odd experience, unclear whether that was the interview or what the purpose of the meeting was. They gave no details about the department's timeline.
