Note

People who have money to pay for your master's program you can easily get selected for NYU and Stonybrook masters programs. NYU informed me they have few funding opportunities for domestic masters students. I got selected for their master's degrees twice(applied for Ph.D.) but do not have money to go. So, staying at a low-rank school(near 100(+) US grad physics ranking). I have the best grades and I have no competition there and also there is a lack of professors for a good discussion. Therefore, self-studying most of the time. Given my experience, if you have money go for a top ranked grad schools obviously only if there are professors with your interest. Then perform very best in your first year and then everyone will need you for their research. Good Luck.
