Note

TTPB: I was actually admitted to Computational and Applied Math. I made a typo saying "Applied Math" instead. Nevertheless, I got email today at 4:40 ET saying that I got an update. My profile is not impressive at all imo. Only a bit research experience, no published paper. The only thing that stands out I guess is that I got straight A+ for last 10 math courses I took (real analysis, probability, statistics and numerical analysis). I was originally applied to Statistics but got rejected and forwarded to my current program. I hope that helps and good luck with all your applications.
