- Unlike some posts below I found both letters unprofessional and unpleasant in tone: in the first letter (assuming everyone gets it) it tells us that grad school in econ is not for everyone...in the rejection letter the message was "DO NOT CONSIDER REQUESTS TO APPEAL OUR ADMISSIONS DECISIONS" and "so this is something you will just have to accept even if you disagree with our decision". And BTW, correct me if I am wrong--how can you reduce type 1 and 2 errors simultaneously without increasing sample size? Actually the experience made me realize this is not a place for me. Still congrats to those admitted anyway : )
