GPA is Grad. This was the content of the E-mail: “Dear X, I'm very sorry to be writing you with the unwelcome news that we are unable to offer you admission to Cornell. We received over 300 applications for only 6 slots. Those numbers may provide little consolation, but they tell you how competitive the admissions process was. My colleagues and I read all of the dossiers, especially the writing samples, with interest and attention. Your creativity and dedication to philosophy are inspiring; I wish that we had space to admit more than just 6 students. Thank you for applying to our program, and best wishes for your future.
