- Help, please! If anyone is familiar with the SFU Econ MA program's work placement trends after the degree, I request for advice regarding the same please. How about the optional co-op program in the MA? Is there a trend of students going in for this option? Generally, is the program good for securing a work placement, or is it only useful if one wants a PhD in future? How supportive is the department / university for realizing success in the placement process? I am not a Canadian or PR, and don't belong to the west. So I don't really have much information to rely on. The SFU website doesn't give info on where exactly past grads have been placed, and I'm greatly concerned about the job prospects after the degree at SFU. And is it a good choice job-wise to go to the west coast (given that I have an MA Econ co-op offer from UWaterloo in the east, but this is significantly more expensive than the SFU program). Is the financial burden worth leaving out SFU & going to Waterloo instead? I'll be really very grateful for any and all advice I can get. Please help me. Thank you very much.
