This year our graduate program received a large number of applications for graduate study, and the applicant pool was extremely competitive. Since we are able to offer admission to only a small fraction of the applicants, we cannot accept many students who are well qualified for graduate work. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer you a position in the Doctor of Philosophy program. We wish you success in your future endeavors and hope that you will be able to pursue your research or study plans at another institution.
