- Notes
- Currently a senior at a small liberal arts college which uses letter grades only. Mostly A's with a few A-'s in and out of my physics major. The physics department is quite small, with fewer than 10 professors and roughly 10 majors per year, so all three professors who recommended me knew me quite well through lab work or teaching assistantships. Non-native English speaker. Spent 6-10 weeks in ultra-cold physics or materials labs in the past three summers. No publications yet, but currently working on a manuscript and my undergraduate thesis. 2 intramural presentations and no conferences. Received the admissions email a week after the application submission deadline. Generous stipend (in the range of $25,000-30,000 per year) and an invitation to apply for the President's Fellowship, which grants an award of $5,500 per year). Still need to pay for the "graduate assistantship fees", which is roughly half the amount of the stipend offered.
