I am writing to update you on the status of your application to the Economics dissertation area at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. We received many strong applications this year and while you were not admitted in the first round of admissions, it is possible we might make another round of admissions in April. The PhD program here is small, with 2-4 students each year and whether we make additional offers varies a lot from year to year depending upon a number of factors.
