- I e-mailed the department secretary and that's how I found out. Apparently, they had more than 300 applications this year. Usually, the department admits "approximately 20-25 students in an effort to have an entering cohort of approximately 8-10 students"... The e-mail I received also says that all admitted students get full financial aid (including a stipend). I'd say though that my chances to make it off the waitlist are bleak...
