Graduated in May 2017. Did not get accepted anywhere for the fall of 2017 (applied to 10 schools), but was positive and persisted! I decided to stay at my university (where I did undergrad) and volunteered as a research assistant for a project. After countless hours there all summer, I realized I would be presenting at TSHA!! Never hurts to as a professor to help with research!! I volunteered at different hearing clinics and hearing camps throughout the summer. Through this I was able to post in my essay the different types of populations I was exposed to, AAC devices, various neurological disorders, etc. Stay positive!! I never thought I was going to get in due to my low GPA. Stay involved, don't give up. Volunteer even when you have work. They will see your work ethic shine!!!
