REPOSTING just to answer questions :) I applied to IDSS directly and got notified by email from the IDSS department last week. Sorry I don't know whats the process if you applied through EECS. I applied to do research in social networks and got interviewed by the associate director (super nice guy). Besides IDSS, I applied to many other interdisciplinary math programs.
