I am writing to let you know that MTL will not be able to make you an offer of admission this year. As you may know, MTL always receives far more applications from highly qualified applicants than our program is able to accept, which means we must turn away many outstanding candidates. Each application the program receives is evaluated holistically; this means that we do not eliminate files on the basis of a single factor such as GRE scores or GPAs. Each file is read with great care, with a view toward the candidate's academic history, accomplishments, interests, and fit with the program. I regret that I can't offer you better news, and wish you all possible success in the pursuit of your career.
