- I applied for the MA program originally. A few weeks after I submitted, somebody in admissions e-mailed me saying that I should apply to the MA/PhD program due to the fact that a PhD was my eventual goal. I said okay. I got rejected. This is hilarious to me because this was a safety school. I got into a much better program with financial aid....so deuces UCSB!
