We are very sorry for the delay in responding to your application. We made the first round of offers in late Feb and are waiting for those students to respond. We had over 1000 applicants, and were able to make offers to less than %10 in the first round; even though there were many qualified applicants. We are writing to you because we are indeed excited about your application. In a few days, the admission situation will become clearer as the students notify us of their decisions. It is still possible that we will be able to extend an offer to you. It would be helpful for us to know if you are currently interested in an offer from the University of Maryland.
