Email: Thank you for your interest in the Master of Science Program in Computational Science and Engineering at MIT and for the information you offered in support of your application. We regret that we are unable to offer you admission to the program for Fall 2021. The Admissions Committee had an extremely difficult task this year, this admission cycle was the most competitive in the program's history, with less than 3% of applicants being admitted and many very strong applications being turned down. Again, thank you for your interest in the program. We wish you much success in your future endeavors.

Open house in 15 March. Anybody notified?

Anyone notified /or/ is waiting for results?

Why?

Received rejection e-mail. Actually it was stuck in my junk mail for 2 days, only realized something was missing when I saw that others have posted their rejection here. Application website is not updated, it still says "Please note the review period runs approximately mid-January through mid-March and decisions are released as soon as possible on a rolling basis via email and an updated notification here."

Visit day is set for March 19th

The email mentions 9 newly admitted CDO/CSE students who will be attending their admit event. While this number appears low for combined MS/PHD admits, the email suggests that right now is a difficult time to travel. There are two ways to look at this: 1. Most admits have been notified, but are unable to travel due to coronavirus (hence the low number of students attending the event) or 2. More students might be accepted given the program typically admits between 10-20 students for CDO. I'd place my money on #1. - Someone who is likely to receive a reject

Email floating around CCSE regarding "Admitted Student Visit Day" for CDO/CSE students. The email mentions a specific number of students who will be attending their event. When paired with historical admissions data posted on this forum, it suggests those who were accepted have already been notified (likely mid-February based on the 1 data point for this year) with rejections likely to come out in the coming days.

Standard e-mail.....really sad... :(

I called the office and she said:"The admission committee is still considering applications."..I guess the rest of acceptance should be out next week. God bless everyone!!!!!!!!
