Creative Writing Fiction, University Of Oregon Denied off the waitlist via email today. Compared to my other waitlist schools, Oregon was very opaque about the whole process...didn't leave a great impression. I'm happily committing to another offer. Can't believe the cycle is finally over!!!

Creative Writing Fiction, Washington University In St. Louis (WashU) Accepted off the waitlist. I'm absolutely over the moon, I really thought it wasn't going to work out for me this cycle!!! I have one other waitlist to hear back from, but in all likelihood I will be accepting this offer.

Materials Science And Engineering, Penn State University What a hell of a program! It was a dream-like program for me; I had around 11 professors working on stuff directly related to my past projects, and I tried mailing each of them multiple times, but no one cared to respond, nor did the admissions committee. I feel like trash now; maybe I am not good enough to pursue this course. I am just in tears writing this, so apologies if this feels too exaggerated!! Good luck to those who got in!

Economics, University College London Dear MRes applicant, I am writing to update you on your application status for the MRes Economics Programme, UCL. I'm afraid I don't have good news. We had an unexpectedly high acceptance rate in the first (limited) batch of offers we made, so we won't extend any more offers. We were very impressed with your application, and I'm sure you must have great options. Still, I understand this is frustrating news. Physics, New York University Physics & mathematics double major with 5 years of continuous research experience (starting 1 year prior to entering college), two REUs, one non-REU summer research program, one summer school in high-energy theory, and one summer school in mathematics (participated in two programs over some summers). One first-author publication, another in writing, and one poster presentation at an undergraduate research symposium. Three years as a teaching assistant for introductory physics courses, and one semester as a teaching assistant for vector calculus. Wrote and/or significantly contributed to a few pieces of open-source software widely used in the field. Rejected by all 20 schools I applied to this year, and finding it incredibly hard to get a job with a physics/math degree.

Creative Writing Fiction, University Of California, Irvine 0a/1w/9r/3p.... it's looking bleak y'all. doesn't hurt bc i was expecting this one, but also kind of hurts bc it was one of my top choices :') but i've still got 3 left to hear from including my dream school. wishing everyone luck and congrats to all who got in :)
