Waitlist notified via email. I was initially told I was ‘very high’ on the waitlist, but they later clarified that this was a mistake. I’m actually sitting in the middle of the 29-people waitlist, with only 4 people in the top tier. If anyone is pretty sure they’d attend somewhere else instead, I’d be very grateful if you could let UArizona know whenever you’re able, since it’s such a great fit for me.

Email from Sarah Kimball, with an attached letter from grad admissions director Prof Michael McKenna. Letter states that I’m “very high” on the waitlist and there is a “good chance” of being admitted, and asks that I discuss with them prior to accepting admission elsewhere. Letter also states that they’ve been conservative with # of initial offers this year. Have others waitlisted received similar? Wondering if this is their generic waitlist email, but keeping fingers crossed…ideal program fit. 2a/1w/9r/5p

Notified via an email from the Director of Graduate Admissions. GPA is undergraduate but not in philosophy. Relevant masters from a well-known UK university (first class honors). 1a/2r/10p. Hope this helps.

Rejected after being waitlisted

I asked about my waitlist status and was told there were at least 12 or more people higher than me on the waitlist. For a good program like UA's, I'll take that as a polite rejection. I really was fooled by the initial letter that said "there is a good chance" -- good luck to the rest of you though!

Received a high waitlist notification and really passionate about its political philosophy. If anyone has been accepted but doesn't want to go or have better offers, plz decline your offer so that I could get more chance :)
